When you eat high-calory foods at night, you don't give your body a chance to burn it off b/c you're going to bed in a few hours. When your body rests, your metabolism slows down and odds are your body will just convert the sugar into fat. That being said, if you eat more calories than your body burns, it doesn't really matter much when you eat it - you'll gain weight.

It really doesn´t matter what time of the day you eat. But instead of stuffing yourself up at one time, it is better to eat little proportions many times a day. When you are tired, its good to have some sugar i.e you can have donuts or cakes. It will give you more energy, but this should be apart from the other meals taken.

Just read about this in my Jenny Craig handbook. It doesn't matter when you eat. Period! What matters is what and how much you eat.
Regardless of when you eat, your body will burn the fuel it needs and store the rest as fat. If the fuel is not there, it will hit those fat stores for it when it needs it.
