Hi,

Make sure all the employee names contain first name and last name. For eg, if the employee name stored as "Bill Gates" in a single cell,

1. Open Excel.
2. Select the Column which contains the name list.
3. Select "Data -> Text to Columns"
4. Select "Delimited" radio button.
5. Click "Next"
6. Make sure only the "Space" checkbox is selected. (Note: If you have stored the employee name as "Bill, Gates", then we should turn on the "Comma" checkbox.)
7. Click "Next"
8. Click "Finish"
9. Now the name is split into two columns.
10. Now select both the column containing First Name and Last Name, use the Sort option in the Data Menu.

Hope this works fine. :)

Thanks,
Selva.

Easy.

Highlight the whole spreadsheet and in the menu (not sure which pull down) there is a little AZ. Click on that and it will ask you which column you want to organise by.

Better still ask the office assistant in Excel. It will show you.

just highlight the column and press the az button on the toolbar.
