I'm a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding and the maid of honor has suggested that everyone say something small rather then just the best man and the maid of honor. Does anyone have any suggestions of a nice poem that I could read for my part.

Do the "Love is patient, Love is kind" Bible verse. Not sure of the exact book though.

My Husband

He leaves the cap off the toothpaste;
He never makes the bed;
He drops his undies on the floor;
And spends far too much time in his shed.

He wants to watch the rugby
When my favourite movie's on.
He never helps in the kitchen.
I feel really put upon.
He always forgets important dates
And do you know what really hurts?
For my birthday he gave me an iron
So that I could iron his shirts.

He's really extremely selfish
He's a rat, he's a fink, he's a louse.
What did you say?
How dare you!
Don't you ever insult my spouse!

Marriage is the closest kind of friendship.
Years of traffic wear away the lines
Between two souls with similar designs,
Ending more in unity than kinship.
Separate actors must play separate parts:
They must alone be riveted by need.
Far beneath that soil a single seed
Roots itself, tenacious in their hearts.
In love there is a trust beyond the word.
Each finds peace in each, as though the light
Needed the tranquility of night,
Deeper than what silence can be heard.

or:

Marriage, as a choice, requires choices.
One must choose not once, but every day.
Life offers us a hundred thousand voices,
Yet those we fail to hear fast fade away.
I choose you with all my wounded heart:
You and our two children. All the rest
Lies in the distance, charming, but apart
From the circle of the ones with whom I'm blessed.
Our marriage isn't easy, but our love
Is still the force that shapes my daily life.
I want us to be happy, and will move
Wherever I must be to be your wife.
I'm yours, and I want you to be mine.
We'll find a way our wishes to combine.

or:

Marriage is a letting go,
A plunge into the deep.
No one need the currents fear
Nor hesitate to leap.
You may your spirits keep.
More is gained by giving up
And less by taking in.
Remember that to dwell in joy
You must make room within.

Hope this helped!
Good luck

Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you;
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

e.e. cummings:

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
not fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Hope this works:

May the sweet love be distributed to everyone on this happy occasion,
May the bride and groom live happily forever.
No more love rotation,
But just the sweet love.
