exercise? I would say butterfly...you use a lot of muscles in that.

I assume you are meaning "Better for your health". If that is the case, the best swimming stroke for all roubnd fitness is the Breast Stroke. However, any swimming activities are good for exercising your body. But I do know that the Breast Stroke is recommended by many professional swimmers and health experts.

The easiest stroke to learn is probably the crawl.

Each stroke is useful in some way, however.

For stamina, I would use front crawl.
Butterfly is good, but you just look silly.

An alternative is breast stroke without using your legs. You can really feel it in your shoulders.

Try doing the front crawl with your head above the water, and without using your legs. Fix your eyes on one point in front of you and don't move your head. Feel the burn!!!!

Any stroke is good to get your heart pumping. The flutter kick will get the muscles moving.

All types of swimming are good for the body as you use a majority of muscles compaired to going to the gym.
