The world would have been a better place perhaps had Jesus given us all His teachings but in such a way it didn't get too messy. People of today just find it difficult to relate to all the miseries and agonies He had gone through to prove His point. Sometimes, that's how it looks for me.

Very good, but how do we do that. I hear about a personal relationship with Jesus, but when I tell them about my
experiences, they tell me i'm consorting with the devil.
I stayed in a mission of a year because I'm disabled now. The same preachers came in all the time. Most of them never
took five minutes to get to me as a person.
They looked at me time after time like I was an ahole, because
I wouldn't come up and get saved. But when I looked at them
while they were preaching, I saw a light all around them.

There is plenty to learn from Christ-respect, love, tolerance-it's just a pity his true message is lost on a lot of Christians.

I think it's because of God's greatest gift: free will. Since we have a natural tendency to screw up (sin), there will always be plenty of deviation from God's will. I hope that answers your "question".

Peace

People have the choice to want to learn from it or not to. Jesus never forced what He wanted us to learn on anyone.

agree as we are still learning about HIM. there are so many things we think we know but after all this time and changes in language, cultures societies etc. we may not know " the real JESUS " as well as we are led to believe.

No it would be a different and better place if people stopped following myth, Instead concentrated on humanity and cared about their fellow human beings.

I fail to see what was so special about Jesus. If we all simply did what was right; that which is not selfish and does not hurt others, then this would be a better world. I would much rather follow these wise words:

When I do good I feel good and when I do bad I feel bad, and that is my religion. Abraham Lincoln

People are naturally sceptical when you start off with "Trust me!" This may be the reason. Jesus would have had more followers if HE had said "Suit yourself, take your pick"

I very much agree.
