I've got this lump on my neck, it's inside, but it's big enough for me to feel it without having to pressing my fingers down. I've had it for a quite a while. First I ignored it, but now it got worse. The lump's not painful, but sometimes it's difficult for me to breathe. Every morning I wake up and I feels like something's stuck in side my throat. I feel sick and wants to throw up all the time. I told my parents about it, but they said it's nothing to worry about and told me to stop complaining about it. Can someone please help me?

It sounds a great deal like a swollen lymph node which does NOT necessarily mean it's cancer. It could, however, be mononucleuosis (I believe I spelled that wrong), also known as mono. It could also possibly be swollen from your body trying to fight an infection. In either case, you need to see a doctor ASAP.

I had mono many years ago and it makes you feel like crap in general. Very tired all the time. I can't remember exactly what was done but I know I had to get Vitamin B shots for several weeks. My lymph nodes were so swollen one of them never went down completely and can still be felt by applying a small amount of pressure (not visible). It still tends to swell a little more when I get sick.

You could also being having an allergic reaction to something.

Please see a doctor!!!!!

Please, Please, Please get to a doctor!!! It could be nothing but a swollen lymph node from a mild infection or it could be a thyroid goiter or it could be Lymphoma (cancer). My coworkers brother in law (he is only 20 years old) had a lump come up like you described. The doctors treated him for an infection for three weeks before the lump grew so big they had to do an emergency tracheotomy so he could breath! Now he is on chemo with a 60% chance to survive! Please don't play with this. If it is an infection antibiotics will help if it is not you could die!

Go to a doctor, but not just any doctor...a specialist. Go to an eyes, ears, nose, and throat doctor. I went to four doctors (2 specialist) for the lumps that were in my neck before one of them would actually do a biopsy on it and it turned out to be Hodgkin's disease. I would not trust your normal healthcare physician, they automatically assume that it is swollen from another infection, cold, allergy, etc.

PLEASE see a doctor. I had a lump in my throat that turned out to be Lymphoma. I'm not trying to scare you, because there are many other things it could be.
Check this site for info, and to see if you have any other symptoms:

Go to the ER since your parents won't help you. I can't believe your parents are blowing this off. Or you could go to your school nurse, maybe she will have some idea of what it is and maybe she can get your parents to listen. Your parents should be ashamed of themselves for blowing you off like that!

Go to the school nurse and tell her. It probably is not serious, but you need to find out, just in case.
