Consider the money payment for a lesson learned. If something sounds too good to be true then it probably is a scam.

australian lottery in nigeria?! That doesnt make any sense
but these nigerian scammers make me sick, i have received tones of these lottery prizes, but im not STUPID at that point and honestly i dont understand how anyone can be, miracles come from the sky lady not from your email box....nigeria is one of the most corrupting countrys regarding internet businesses, i really dont understand how could you do such a thing...350$...I hope you'r rich and 350$ for you are like 1$ for me, but has it is it's already done...

try to contact your local police station with a printed version of your e-mail or a check if one is sent...but my guess is that probably there is little they can do...

however, you may like to check this and other sites if you haven't already

I guy named Jon Carruthers describes how he would be held responsible for paying back the bank 2 million dollares if the scammers deposited 2 million dollars with check and the check bounced.... so in your case maybe you should be more confortable, to know that you were only responsible for 350$

and talk to your bank....maybe that's a good idea too...

I would start off by calling the police and informing them of what happened. Scams like those are against the law. As for getting your money back, I doubt that will happen, but you need to report this.

Call your state AG, but these guys hide in Nigeria where all the politicians are corrupt. Lookat it as a learning experience and live with it.

There is a risk if you go to authorities in Nigeria and tell your story. They will think that its not just President Bust, but all americans are as dumb as he is. How did you fall for this scam?

people who get away with scams like this are usually untraceable as they open and close bank accounts in days, they also set up business premises in false names,i hope you didnt give them your bank details,if you did you need to tell your bank fast. You really have no way of getting your money back.

I was sent one of those "congratulations, you are a winner" I think your best recourse is to send the details to your attorney general. and maybe as a 'spam' to internet. Never send someone money if YOU won!!!

Count the money as a good investment is a lesson well learned. You will never retrieve your money.
