I don't know scientifically, but I think there is some recent research that shows that puzzle games in particular do actually improve mental accuity and memory, more so than other games. I certainly hope so. I love puzzle games, I'm addicted to word racer. I think if its something that you do well, it boosts your self esteem, plus its relaxing and exciting at the time, how many things can you say that about? Now if only I could figure out a way to get paid for playing.

Yes! They keep your brain working.....research says if you do crossword puzzles or other similiar puzzle games the exercise you give your mind is very beneficial. As we age we need more and more mental stimulation to keep us on top of our game. Have fun!

Yes they are. I do word-search puzzles, lots of trivia games on a lot of subjects that go real fast with lots of players, I play a lot of backgammon, 5 card poker, a few crosswords and I've found that it greatly helps my memory.

Yes! any thing that stimulates your thinking is. They say things like switching hands to brusk your teeth,or try writing with opposite hand is good ,also.

My son's Endocrinologist(Diabete's)said to keep his mind busy with crosswords/ etc.
