*LOL* I too have this problem. I used to get out the harness and leash for my cat, but as soon as he saw me heading in that direction even, he was the mysterious disappearing kitty! Now, I just grab him like I'm going to play with him, throw him over my shoulder then toss him (not really toss) in the car with me. As long as he gets to sit on the seat without a harness or cat carrier he thinks he's about something and taking him to the vet is no problem. Now...for every other cat I have, I wouldn't dream of not having them in a cat carrier to go to the vet, but I get them to love it by leaving it open for them to play/sleep in. Good luck with your kitty.

My cats don't run, but one of them screams like there's a concrete block on her tail, the entire time she's in the carrier. When we finally get home, she runs off and stays mad at me for a day or so. No, I won't tell...lol

They somehow have that instinctive feeling that they are just not going on any joy ride and there is no way to disguise it. They are alot smarter then we give me credit for. So I don't have to tell your cat that he is going to see Dr. Bill because deep down under his fur, HE ALREADY KNOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

have you tried housecall vets?? there is usually at least a couple in your area and the cats will still know and I would advise putting them in a bathroom but its wayyyyyyy less stress on both you and your cat!! smile... its worth the little bit extra to have them come to you.... just ask you vet if they have the # for a housecall vet or do a web search....its great for dogs too... and multiple pet owners... good luck...

You can't even THINK about it...it's weird, they somehow have a sixth sense and KNOW what you're up to, even if you don't act suspicious!
