no they do not....they do only a fraction of the work of a police constable. ive seen pcso's walking down the road on a summers day with the top buttons of his shirt open swinging his hat in his right hand and sucking a tongue twister with his other hand. they have adopted self importance complex and some look down on police officers....they are told they are the future and carry this around in there tiny little minds. the selection for a constable is very hard and few pass...the selection for pcso's is very simple and befits the role they undertake.... they are but the eyes and ears of the streets and a high visability patrol... and i can tell you they cant even do that right...you will never see a pcso in this area on patrol they just follow the area lad about in the station like lost sheep...bahhh bahh...they get a lot of good press but thats because the government wants to sell to you.pcso my bottom crack.

No. I believe it is the local government pension scheme like the civilian staff as they are not police officers and have no police powers.

no they dont = because THEY ARE NOT POLICE whatever they might think, or be told. If they could be, they would be. They are not. That said, their terms and conditions are better than most of them would get in other jobs. But not the same as Police.
