To hold an entire group of people accountable because of the actions of a few is foolish. Many people of many different faiths have committed atrocities.

As in Christianity there are Catholics and Protestants in Islam there are also different branches, the Sunnis and Shiits, about 90% of Muslims are Sunnis and 10 % are Shiits. The pictures on that website are of the Shiit holiday Ashoura in remembrance of their hero Hussein who died 1300 years ago in a fight against Sunnis. Unlike Sunnis Shiits consider Hussein as the rightful successor of Mohammad.
I don't know how many Shiits really practise this ritual, but I have heard it is done in Lebanon and Iraq, but I never heard it is done in Iran where the majority is Shiit, and it is not at all done by Sunnis.

F.Y.I- This pratice is praticed by the Shiites Muslims... Me being a Sunni Muslim doesnt know much of this pratice. But for what i know, Iran(for sure) and Lebanon(if i'm not wrong) has sent up tents by the government to set up blood donation booth instead of blood spilling on the streets...
I agree it looks alil bit unpleasant to sight!!!

this is a small group in a small sect similar to the christian flagellants in Spain. Not really part of the mainstream faith but not totally rejected either. It is not different than those who whip themselves bloody for Jesus.

You think you will get answers or stir up emotions by showing this. But in reality you are only showing your own ignorance.
Why did you not say the same thing, or show the same pictures of baby boys being cicumsized and the blood that that produces? or maybe show a Hindu woman being cremated alive because her husband died?
The truth is that there are atrocities in all corners of human life. Are you going to be the one to change them? Then start in your own heart.

you are a little hater/bigot.that website only shows the extreme side of Muslims(which is only about 1 or 2% of Muslims are extreme).the majority of Muslims are not like that.
