Do you agree with me if I say to reason with people regarding religious matter is the hardest? People prefer to slander and call names when they don't see what they like. When it's about Islam, people prefer to twist here and there, NEVER answer to the questions directly.

To have a fair and equal dialog regarding religion is tough. People only feel their own religion is the best EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW ONLY A BIT. Do you agree?

It's no use to reason with the Muslims. They have been heavily brainwashed to believe Islam is peace and love even in the midst of war and terror.

Their alternatives to painful truths are simple - anything that's negative to Islam is not true. Only positive things to Islam is true.

everyone is different and has their own bias and prejudices especially regarding religious matters. which one is reared in their culture and society belief system. those who expand outside their own culture and society belief system are still judging the other belief systems by what they have been taught. a little knowledge is dangerous as this may be in error so an opened minded attitude towards a different belief system is very difficult to achieve.

You need to understand, it's not about wanting to find the truth. It's about insecurity.

Often they think that their religion is the one true and only religion, when they know absolutely nothing about the other and even less about their own.

If people actually studied the history of some of the so-called religions they would quickly see that they represent an agenda of control that is little more than a lie about God.

Few ever do this because if they did they would realize that God loves all of the ways that people express their love for him. If they did this, then who would they have to be better than.

It has more to do with being right than seeing the truth.

Have you ever wondered why is the US so much worried about security issues. The US is reaping what it sowed. The US wants Israel to keep weapons of mass destruction but not N.Korea Iran or anyone else its attitude is always biased and has double standards. Its no wonder everyone hates the US. I have come across a lot of Americans even on Yahoo Answers they always offend and abuse Muslims for no reason and I really get disappointed. People think Osama is representing Islam but actually he's not No one may judge or know a religion before discovering about its true meaning. All u people r just brainwashed! don't u c Wat they do with the poor Palestinians?Ever wonder who gets killed everyday for no reason? and recently they attacked and killed hundreds of Innocent Lebanese for no reason and ur government still backed Israel. At least the US should have been neutral in this case but Ur thoughts are totally biased against Muslims Ur not realistic. A single or few people are not representing Islam. The Qur'an is fully representing Islam. Everyone hate the US because of ur Pharaoh Presidents policies He has labeled Muslims as terrorists. Ur media is creating more hatred. people are so angry at the terrorists they are taking it out on Islam and Muslims when neither of them have anything to do with them they should take their anger out on those particular Muslims who are evil not the religion
Do u have any Justification for Wat happened in Abu Ghuraib Jail in Iraq and wats happening in Guantanamo bay? u people call urself civilized but ur not.

AS U SOW SO SHALL U REAP
AND TRUTH HURTS

There is a trick. Even if someone is ranting and raving you can still pick up their point of view. If they are striving against you beliefs so be it. Step out of yourself and look at what is being said or typed as the case may be. For example I love Jesus very much and I take some heat for that. If you watch what happens with non Christians it is sort of funny. Someone will ask a question "WHERE WAS GOD WHEN MY FROG DIED??" A Christian responds. "He is on the throne in heaven and he loves you and has a plan for your life. Sorry about your frog."
The frog guy screams "STOP SHOVING GOD DOWN MY THROAT YOU NAZIS. LOL true no? It is the Holy Spirit that convicts people. It is kind of funny to watch.

GOD bless ya.

Islam is unlike any other major religion on earth. It demands the death of all infidels; that means anyone who isn't Muslim. It's clerics call for Holy Wars against entire civilizations and for the destruction of all governments except Islamic governments.

THAT ALONE is reason to beware of these people, and personally I think they should be totally isolated from the other civilizations and allowed to fight amongst themselves to the death.

Islam, with its beliefs of killing infidels shouldn't even be considered a real religion in the modern world. A group of radical terrorists is more like it.

If the majority of Muslims are against the terrorists, then let THEM take them down, prove Islam to be a religion deserving of respect. Don't cover up the sins of your brethern, spout love and peace and support murderers and terrorists.

Beheadings for adultery, cutting off hands; come on!! This is NOT civilized behavior.

RESPECT IS EARNED NOT A RIGHT.

Ha ha, welcome to my life. I'm working on a master's in folklore, and a large part of my work at the moment is interviewing people about religions (which is where I've learned a lot of what I post in here, actually).

The two main problems I've found are: a) Fundamentalism, which I believe to be a bad thing in all forms; and b) lack of knowledge about other religions. And b) tends to spawn a). I've talked to people of all religions who are well-informed about other religions and are quite rational and reasonable about such things, and I've talked to people who know little if anything about other religions except that they're not theirs and therefore both wrong and evil.

Like anything else, ignorance breeds fear and hatred; education seems to be the major key to reasonable religion.

your comments regarding islam .... i would say exactly the same for christians, as you prove your own point. it is a joke to say that christainity is peaceful when so many wars have been fought in its name, but hell breaks loose if anyone makes that observation.

really, to get perspective on another religion one has to go to the library and read about it. no point asking people, because no matter what their religion, they will be biased towards their own, and prejudice about others depending on the current political climate.

Yes, I think you're essentially right about this. People become extremely invested in their religious belief systems, to the point that changing would be a complete disruption of their lives. Very few people are willing to do that, which is why most people simply keep the belief systems they were raised in.

yes and yes again. B'cause they are not open minded, plus they have lived in it for years ( 365 x 24 x .... )
but its not hard to convince some one to leave his beliefs.
My best friend left his religious practice totally. And now he does exactly what i does. I just gave him very simple roots to follow which he never thought of. Evolution and modern terrorism is the best medicine.

I am not trying to be rude, but the additional details that you added could be applied to another religion I know of as well.
