Jesus was the original liberal.

Odd that the conservatives have adopted him as there rallying point.

The conservative agenda of me first, us and them, exclusivity rather than inclusively sounds more like the teachings of the devil than the teachings of Jesus.

It is Amazing how very few people pay attention to the teaching of Jesus, how the side step the issue, how they refuse to deal with their own sin and selfishness, and how, when confronted by their heat, the talk about issues that are dead. The welfare system was reformed years ago under Clinton, no less. There are no Christians in the US anymore, at least not in the Institutional Church, they follow a man named Calvin, who said he followed Jesus and authored more bloodshed then we can possibly explain. They are not Christians. They are American Cultist.

Jesus said GIVE the poor. He didn't advocate that the government TAKE people's assets. Tax collectors were the lowest of the low - Jesus befriended them, as well as prostitutes, to show that even the worst in society are God's children.

I give to numerous charities. Do you?

indeed it is so why do all people and governments not subscribe to this concept. You do not need to be religious to appreciate the sentiment and apply it in your own life
