don't just decide you're now a vegatarian and switch to a bunch of fad foods that are available today. there are many people who do and their health goes to ruin. in order to have a healthy body you need protien, carbohydrates and fats in a proper balance.

George Ohsawa, born Joichi Sakurazawa, a brilliant man, was the founder of the Macrobiotic diet and philosophy. His philosophy, you are what you eat.

Macrobiotic Diet composition Consists of

Whole cereals: 50-60%
Fruit and vegetables: 25-30%
Beans: 10%
Soup (miso): 5-10%
Seaweed: 5%
The remainder is composed of whitefish, seeds and nuts, oil and spices, sea salt, desserts.

I am a vegetarian who doesn't like the major protein suppliers like beans so it's hard for me :( eat all the fruit and veggies you want! (Plus they will help you lose weight) and also I like the Quorn meat-substitute products like the chicken tenders. Also! Organic Valley makes awsome chocolate soy milk that is calcium and vitamin fortified so thats how I get around drinking milk... cuz I just don't digest dairy well. Ummm.. eggs! Unfertalized ones though (that way they were never almost chickens your know?), and make sure that they are cage free and vegetarian fed. Soups with lots of veggies and beans in them is great and filling. Oh and soy! SOY SOY SOY! That includes tofu. The skys the limit! Hehe, chips and salsa, pastas, grains (brown rice, barley). Try and find a health food store near you and go look at all the awsome choices for vegetarians! And if you want to eat all natural (which I highly reccomend... i never get sick and feel great!) then thats a great way to get those products easily. I go to a place called New Seaons, there's also Whole Foods which is nation wide ^_^ oh and check the labels. Don't eat anything that has rennet in it (unless it says it's the vegetarian kind) because it comes from cows bellies :-p

It is a very good idea to turn vegetarian,

However there is a list of things you can eat-I will make it simple for you.
(1). You can eat all vegetables, fruits, milk products, nuts and everything which is grown on and in the land.
(2). You can eat all cereals, wheat, bread devoid of animal additives.
(3). You cannot eat meat, fish, beef, crabs, lamb etc i.e. which comes from animal origin.
(4).Do not eat sea foods, pickles and any item which involves anything from the sea origin.
(5).You can eat Curd,Yogurt with green mark-but no Pizza if you are not in India.

Very good to know this and keep up.

Vegetarians can eat/drink anything that is not fish, beef, veal, poultry, lamb, or anything else that has eyes except potatoes- nor can they eat gelatin products such as regular marshmallows or lard.

Veggies can eat, though! Fruits, vegetables, salads, breads, pastas, chocolate, nuts of all kinds, beans, cererals, vegetarian soup, tofu, TVP (texturized vegetable protein), and cookies are just a few of the foods that we can eat! For information about portion sizes and more, go to the Vegetarian Food Pyramid, http://www.famousveggie.com/vegfoodpyramid.cfm .

If you are going vegetarian, the first thing to do is to not eat meals with meat. Eat a lot of fruits, veggies and nuts. Then, try some tofu. It's not as bad as most people think. Especially if you make rownies with it. Veggie burgers might also be something you will enjoy. http://www.vegcooking.com/ has thousands of recipes for vegetarians and vegans. Check it out!

Also, be informed. http://www.GoVeg.com has tons of info- in fact- every PETA website does. Below are a few:
