I've tried several different kinds of lotions and nothing works. Is there a natural solution? Or might I have to get a perscription?

During the winter, my knuckles get so dry that they crack and bleed. I tried different lotions, but nothing worked. At night I would lather them in lotion, and then sleep wearing gloves! Like I said, NOTHING worked. Then one day a concerned friend went to the Body Shop and purchased me a small tub of body butter. What a difference! The moisture really stayed with me! Within a few days, my hands were healing.

Here is a home remedy you can try:

Mix together the yolk of one egg, slightly beaten, and 2 tsp of olive oil, added in drops to the egg. Apply this heavy cream and allow to dry. Rinse with cool water.

Here's to smooth elbows!

I had the same problem for years and when I finally went to the dermatologist for it,it was actually psoriasis not dry skin, that's why lotions won't clear it.A hydrocortizone cream should clear it up.Just use once or twice a day, whatever it says on the package.

Honey. Messy, I know, but it helps the skin and is a natural ointment. You can put it on and wrap the elbow area with something and rinse it off after 15-20 minutes. Honey also works well on cuts and scrapes.

It's possible you could need a prescription..try olive oil if you want something natural.

Put vasiline or a thick salve on them at night, and during the day, use a heavy, thicker lotion, try one of the more expensive lotions, they are better. Something thats greasy.
