Depression can be tough on friends and loved ones. It can be draining and stressful listening to and seeing someone go through a difficult time like that. If you're not trained in dealing with depression, listening to all that negativity can "rub off" on you and bring you down. So the average person doesn't want to constantly hear or deal with someone else's issues or problems. Those people close to you want to see you happy and enjoying life.

That's why there are clinical professionals trained to deal with situations like yours. Verbal therapy can work wonders, but depending on the severity of your depression, certain medications might be appropriate to treat your symptoms. But that's why you should seek out a professional. Let them assess your situation and then you can discuss options with them. Speak to your family physician and they can make the appropriate referrals. Best of luck!

There is a reason why you are so depressed, and it could be hormones. My sister in law goes through it also, she doesnt know why it just hits her at any time.
Ok try this go to Clark's (a health food store) and pick up some MUSTARD an original flower essence from the makers of Bach. Its specifically for gloom that descends for no reason.

See a psychologist or a psychiatrist. They are there to talk, and they won't leave.

Your person may be getting depressed from working so hard with you, think about them and what they are going through.

I am Bipolar, I live with this family, the mother, father and daughter aged 7. The mother puts up with my changes in mood, she takes time off work for me and takes me to doctors appointments and other things.

I can't imagine how hard it is for them, but i agree that it can't be easy dealing with not knowing if i will be alive when they come home.

Find someone else to talk to, a professional, and keep talking to your friend, tell them what you are doing about it, tell them you don't want to put it all on them, tell them you are trying to get better. Then use your friendship with this person to hang, and have fun. Smile...

Remember do not lie to them.

Realizing that your feeling are irrational; as to say, they are not caused by any outside stimulus, helps you to start with. Tell yourself that because the feelings your having where not caused by anything in your life try to mentally rationalize the way you feel. Reaffirm things there are to be happy about. Think of things that you have to look forward to. Often times you can find things that will help minimize the depression. Find things that will lift your spirits in times of need.
