who else would allow foreigners to get drivers licenses if the card identified what nationality they were? It would allow them to purchase insurance and drive legally, so that if they were in an accident with an american, they would be covered.

Thats what Im trying to say! they cant get licenses! thats why I posted this in the first place, to see if you think we should give them licenses! so we know who they are and so they can legally drive. why would you want to force them to have to drive a illegally, which is unsafe and increases insurance for the rest of us?

wow, because everybody knows a states wealth is measured by its average income, not. Its the unemployment that makes michigan poor. 7.1% are unemployed year round, with an additional 10% being unemployed during the winter, since all the jobs in northern michigan are seasonal.
Michigan is the unmatched leader of unemployment.

I think i agree with you, I know if someone crashes into me I want them to have insurance. In California they havent issued licenses to illegal immigrants but there is a bill that is constantly being rejected. They were talking about putting somewhere on the license that the person did not have a SSN #. I believe that for the most part they would purchase insurance because it would provide security for them too. Yet like people who are legal in this country there are going to be some that don't.

No illegals don't deserve rights that are reserved for legal American citizens.You think they should give the test in Spanish ? Why bother why not just give them the keys to your house and let them take over your home as well.
The solution is to STOP illegals not make things easier.
Cover your car with the uninsured motorist part and make it high enough to cover the loss you may incur.That's cheaper than allowing illegals another foot hold into America.
No amnesty its a dead issue in congress anyway

The drivers license is being issued to illeagals every day, day after day! And what wonderful drivers those folks are, not to mention that a drivers license is accepted as an I.D. which is bogus in the hands of an illegal. They open checking accounts with their bogus info and write hot checks all over town and move on, just another alien scam!

OKAY, here's a question for you.. If they are illegal, what makes you think they are going to try and do the right thing and purchase car insurance? Obviously if they are illegal, they don't give a crap about our laws and would not try to 'make right' and get car insurance. So your question is moot and defies logic.

I don't think that would fly. America is America because it does not descriminate race. To put one's ethinicity on one's driver's license is absurd...that is why they have a temp driver's license for foreigners....and they purchase insurance when they rent a car.
