I see your concern. I have asthma, too. There are actually a surprising number of "triggers" of asthma and some CAN last months. Some are: you could have bronchitis, or your allergies are acting up, or you could have a sinus infection, or you could have GERD. You really should make another appointment and ask, "What are the antibiotics for? Why did you choose Advair? What else could be going on?"
Advair Diskus is a wonderful asthma PREVENTER. It does not treat attacks. However, this medication is very effective because the size of the particles in the powder are really small. This means that when your bronchial tubes are restricted (such as during an attack), this medication can still get further into your lungs, unlike other medications. It has worked wonders for me.
Now, go back to your doctor or get another one who explains to you what is going on and why he gives you a certain med over another. If you think there is something else going on, tell the doctor that. Do not be timid. And, get an allergist that can test and treat you for allergies.

Diskus advair 500/50 is a maintenance medication for your asthma which means that you must follow the dosing schedule given by your doctor to help prevent asthma attacks. This medication may take up to 3-4 days for it to work, so you have to be patience and take it regularly because once you have asthma attack, it will not stop you from having one. You also should learn how the use it (how to inhale it properly) by reading the package insert that comes with it or you can ask your pharmacist to show how to use it so you can get the full medication each time you inhale. Your doctor gives you antibiotic along with asthma medication which means that you may have an infection some where in your respiratory system and that may be causing you the asthma problems as well (esp if you are a smoker). You should talk to your doctor to see what really is the diagnostic but in the mean time I would suggest that you take your antibiotic and your inhaler meds. Hope this helps!

Jeeeeez! Cramming all that chemical garbage into you, I'm not surprised you are having asthma attacks.
I met a lad a while ago, described himself as a "professional asthmatic", 40 inhalers per day. He was introduced to a new science (350,000 scientific papers written already). Within 2 years or so, he ran the London Marathon - with a disgustingly good time.
You are possibly correct in suggesting there is something else going on. You are probably lacking a group of complex carbohydrates which serve to allow the transfer of biological data to take place at cellular level. These are not difficult to replace, and the results are proving quite staggering.
There is a good chance your immune function is over-reacting by a mile for some reason, this to can easily be controlled.
First things first - at least 2 - 4 liters of bottled still mineral water per day (anyone who suggests this is a hype has no idea what they are talking about).
Second and Third - avoid aspartame and caffeine like the proverbial plague.
Finally - good luck!

I use Advair 100/50 and haven't had any problems with it. However, do some research, just type in on a search engine and people have different things to say. Some really like it some don't. I can tell you from my experience that when I came off of it, from my own choice, I had breathing difficulties, so I went right back on. Steroid shots, I feel horrible for you, as you have so much weight gain, I got the typical moon face and I refused to take anymore steroid pills, since I gained 6 pounds in a week. Take your full prescribed course of antibiotics!

I began making use of advair about 2 years ago it didnt work to start with ,I informed my medical professional this and then the physician prescribed an advair prescription that used to be a bit bit bigger dosage. After that i have breathed better than I ever have. It's more of a long run solution than a quick repair. My recommendation is after per week or so ask your medical professional if that you can get the higher dosage,I quite had dangerous respiratory problems for years, however by utilizing advair and the hypersensitivity capsule zyrtec i have felt alot better.
