never fed any baby food to our kids. We bought and inexpensive baby food grinder and just ground up what we were eating.

Not a huge fan... I like the idea of making my own. My kids were able to eat fresher foods and eat what the rest of the family is eating. Now, they are both healthy young children that love a wide variety of foods their peers won't touch: spinach salads with strawberries, broccoli, beans, etc. I think the fact that they were a part of our meal made them more excited about mealtimes. It's cheaper, and healthier. Preserved foods have added sodium, plus our son is allergic to cow milk and it is HARD to find foods that don't contain it.

Ugh, can't stand the stuff. It costs a fortune, it's full of preservatives, and it's bland. Homemade baby food is the way to go. It's quite easy, too. It mostly involves mashing up foods that you prepare for yourself. Steamed fruits and vegetables, tofu, and some fresh fruits all mash up quite nicely. And if you feel inclined, you can make grand amounts of mushy food and freeze it for later.

I'm not a parent....but i helped my mom raise my two younger sisters.
I never liked Gerber food for them....in fact not any other brand!
My mom and I made food from home, mashed it and served it. Packaged food has many preservatives....whether they say so or not.

My baby loved it . Good to carry while travelling unlike other perishable foods which have to be consumed by the baby within 2 hours .
And there are many flavors too .

The plums are delicious and the peas...yum. Apricots, squash...delicious. I don't like the green beans so much.

Oh...Ha! I just realized that maybe you weren't asking if we parents liked the TASTE ?!

Well, I do! And my kids loved it and they are both very healthy (17 and 21) having been raised on Gerber.

Better, healthier, and cheaper to make your own. And it's super easy. Check out this sites info on healthy nutrition and there are some great books too.
