There are several .mp4 AAC audio files that are 30-45 minutes long (they are class lectures) made by Podcasting and I am trying to find software that can convert the audio to a text document so people who are hearing impaired can be able to read what is being said by the teacher.

IBM's viavoice has prooved itself to be the best, try it and you wont feel bad.
microsoft has also made a small tool that you can implement in your own application but its very poor still,
if you dont like these, try searching the web for the term "voice recognition", you'll find lots of nice stuff
anyway, good luck :)
