Get your diabetes under control before its too late for your health or your job. Often, serious life-style changes must be faced and observed forever. Just get to it. If it takes losing your job to wake up to your need to follow your diabetic regimen strictly, then it is worth it. But if you get serious about your diabetes now, perhaps you can save your job and your health.

May God strengthen you and bless you, richly.

From experience with my daughter, I want to let you know that you have to control the diabetes, and not let it control you. You can become so very, very ill if you do not control this now. Control it by healthy eating and exercise. If you are not on an insulin pump yet, possibly that will help you get under better control. If you are not seeing an Endocrinology specialist, you need to. It is best to see a specialist who knows the latest treatments. I'm not saying you aren't seeing a specialist currently, just offering advice. Please accept the disease knowing it won't go away, and control it wholeheartedly so that it doesn't affect the rest of your life.

One more thought. If you are insulin-dependent diabetic and have many other complications due to the diabetes, you may be able to apply for Social Security Disability through the government. You will not qualify just having diabetes alone, but if it has caused other symptoms and problems in your health, you may qualify and then you can stay at home and care for your health. It is something for you and your doctor to talk about.

I hope this helps you and you begin to feel better soon. My heart goes out to you, as I know what you are going through.

FMLA will protect your job as long as you do not go past the mandated 12 weeks of missed work and put in 1000 hours of work time. I would talk to your HR department about your employer and perhaps even a lawyer.

If you are a New Orleans Refugee,
Get a job, and let them rep-o that large screen TV, and get of fa ya fat *** and go to work, and quit moaning. America was built by people who hurt daily, but managed to find their work shoes. Your obesity causes the diabetes. Look it up.

Notes: I am a home care provider, and I notice junk food and dirty babies and grandmother's sitting in roach infested homes that are only 2 year's old in Houston. I notice the "Adults in these homes to be asleep at 12 noon when I make a medical call to their parent's or grandparent's. But that WIDE SCREEN HDTV is always on. You might want to check out Mike Murray's book: How to Prevent and Treat Diabetes with Natural Medicine. It has a lot of good advice and info and may help you regain control of your heath which would help solve your employment problems.

You should have your Doctor to write your Employer explaining that you are under his care for treatment and you have to be off work until he feels it is safe for you to return, or say you can only work a certain amount of time.

You need to see if your Doctor will put you out on Disability....at least for a few weeks.

That way, you are protected by law and it gives you a chance to relax, eat right and get your blood sugar under control.

You need to follow a strict diet to get your diabetis under control. If you don't you could wind up on insuline if your not on it already. You must be careful because if you don't this disease can kill you.
