Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! People think the breed that I raise is either the most gorgeous, or the weirdest!
I call them 'beautiful freaks' behind their backs..lol
that is way there are so MANY breeds of dogs! there is at least one variety to please every dog lover..Just like flowers in a garden...to each his own..

OK try this really think of each dog you know then picture it changing into any dog you think better. Wonder how many you can get too. If there really are as many around as you say and they are all the same breed.! That has too be a world record. As you dont say how long the street is, I live in a street with six houses and only one doesnt have an animal of somekind, Three of us have cats though. Hope you like them! Funny thing we all think our own is the best! If your street is longer the problem probably is too many dogs of any sort By the way I too find them ugly but I can think of uglier breeds, How do you feel about German Shepherds to me the perfect breed in every way and YES you've quessed I own one.

Don't judge them before you get to know them! If a guy (or gal, for that matter) just happens to be wearing black with any kind of metal on them and has a Staffordshire bull terrier, that does not necessarily make them any more or less mean or irresponsible than your average joe. Just because the media often likes to portray such types with a negative image does not make them untrustworthy, irresponsible or anything else of the sort!
The fact is that these people, unlike you, are probably able to either see beyond their dogs' looks and see them as a very highly trainable, often very loyal and affectionate dog breed or, even better, are able to see beauty in them as well.
Staffordshire bull terriers are one of the world's misunderstood dog breeds. The fact is that, unlike the image that the media like to present, most Staffordshire bull terriers are actually, at core, not naturally aggressive and are actually very highly trainable dogs. In fact, it is their intelligence and/or obedience that makes it so easy to train them to be aggressive. Most of the staffies (as dog lovers such as myself will often affectionately call them) that have been responsible for the savage attacks that you have probably heard about were probably either provoked at some point, trained and/or socialised poorly or even trained to be aggressive. Such attacks are horrific, and I will admit that I do sympathise withe victims and/or their family members and friends, but the dog is often not the real baddie there. The real one/s responsible for the attack are often either the dog's keeper, the victim (sometimes they may have actually provoked the dog, in some way, themselves) and/or anyone else who may have been involved in shaping the dog's behaviour.
A well-trained, well-socialised staffie is, normally, a very friendly, affectionate and obedient dog. Such an animal is normally a pleasure to own, know and/or meet.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't find Akitas to be attractive at all, but I know people who think they are gorgeous.
Some people probably do get Pit Bulls and Staffordshire terriers for the image of a tough dog, but they are actually usually quite sweet dogs.
It's just a matter of taste.

As others have said; It all in the eye of the beholder.
I don't think Staffs are ugly.
I think the Afghan Hound is extremely beautiful, but I know people who say they are skinny and ugly, so to each their own.
What I do enjoy is the "ugliest dog contest", most of the dogs that enter/win are SO ugly that they are CUTE!

One other thing to consider though is that many people just see a cute puppy and don’t consider what it is going to look like when it grows up. As a relative bluntly once told me “I always wondered why people would pick such ugly dogs. I guess you’d have to fall in love with them as a cute little puppy.” I know that sounds mean…
Also consider that many who adopt young puppies from a shelter don’t even have a real idea what breed their puppy is until it gets older. Now that my “hound mix” I adopted is getting older more people think she is part pitt bull. I didn’t adopt her to appear one way or another, we just liked her personality.

Beauty is only skin deep. It's not what your dog looks like but the love and companionship they give. My staffy cross maybe not the most handsome chap but he is one of most loving friendly dog you could ever wish to meet.

That's just your opinion..I think they are unique and beautiful in their own way, but I also love the tiny, delicate little yorkies and huge, slobbery mastiffs...They all have their very own appeal! You just have to be open-minded and willing to see the beauty in them instead of merely dismissing them as ugly-

Staffies are an aquired taste but once you've spent some time with one, it's hard not to fall in love.
There's no other breed for me.
