Yes it can. I worked for several respiratory companies and when someone has COPD they should not be involved in a job that would have things floating in the air, and when it gets hot it makes breathing more difficult.

I have COPD and my guess it can't help.You want the air as clean as possible.I also have trouble breathing in high temps as well as real cold . GOOD LUCK!!

Yes, it can make it worse especially if they're around heat and any kind of chemicals.
