No. Beef broth will never be vegetarian because it has BEEF in it.

Try making a vegetable stock. Lightly coat vegetables and roast them in a 425 degree oven (4-carrots, 1-2 onions, 1-2 turnips, 3-4 parsnips, 3-4 zucchini and/or summer squash) then put them in a stock pot with garlic and thyme. Cover with cold water by 1-2". Bring to a boil and then reduce temperature. Simmer for 1 hour. Strain, chill, and freeze in small quantities for use later. This stock will be vegetarian.

This will give you a great vegetarian base stock. The cold water will give you a clear stock (hot water gives you a cloudy stock). Remember: veggies for vegetarians and meat for carnivores.

Of course not. Once the juices from the meat are in there it is not vegetarian even under the most liberal of definitions.

Suppose you cooked up a whole pot of vegetables and then strained out the vegetable pieces - do you think anyone would accept that as beef broth?

Broth comes from whatever you put into it and can't miraculously change just because it is harder to tell after you get the lumps out.

You have a maid? Lucky you - but the answer is NO, the liquid is made from the beef not just the the fat part.

If you made broth from leeks, carrots, herbs, and those type of contents then it would be vegetarian.

You can do that or go to a health food store and buy some already made.

No, since you have used beef in the process of making it, there will be juices (blood) etc. from the beef in the broth.
Just think if it had been made with chunks of human flesh, would you be happy eating it?
