I don't know why all these vegetarians get worked up over questions like this? you need to chill dudes...
I think this was a joke!!!!!!!!
And then you wonder why people ask these sort of questions, its because your answers are so funny, spitting your dummies out because someone made a funny. I don't understand how someone could not understand the food chain. Can you imagine how many dead cows and pigs and chickens and sheep (don't like lamb mind yuk) would be around if we didn't eat them? we would be over run. That's what they are breed for. :) so there.... cchhhiillllll! be happy! have a carrot, or a slice of roast beef :)

I realize the question was a joke and I could care less about it. Actually many of the responses were pretty funny.

But, This comment, the one quoted below I find annoying;

"Can you imagine how many dead cows and pigs and chickens and sheep (don't like lamb mind yuk) would be around if we didn't eat them? we would be over run. That's what they are breed for. :) so there.... cchhhiillllll! be happy! have a carrot, or a slice of roast beef :)"

Yep I can imagine how many and it would be a stark few that's for sure. Animals on factory farms are artificially inseminated, and many are so genetically altered that the males are effectively sterile anyways (if their sexual organs escaped being chopped off). I think this point is ridiculous. it's all fun and games until someone has to toss some bunk facts in there. :D

That is LAME and you know it.

Kill Bill- i will assume for arguments sake that you are in fact an idiot and not just obnoxious- so I will spell it out for you. Plants not having a nervous system or brain IS the point- They are incapable of feeling pain/fear/other unpleasant sensations and emotions associated with suffering, which is what vegetarians are trying to reduce. You don't have to agree with us, but you must realise that it is not hypocrisy when we eat food which did NOT suffer.

Slagging off vegetarians is ridiculous anyway, unless you LIKE the idea of animals being bred and slaughtered in mass quantities- even if you personally don't care at all, it's never going to be offensive is it?

I'm not a vegetarian, but I've killed my share of veggies for a salad. last one I had must have taken out a head of iceberg, romaine, a red cabbage, a couple of radishes, a few baby carrots and (here's the part I feel really guilty about) 2 teaspoonsful of imitation bacon bits. I know, don't hate me, I'm so SORRY!

whats the "heehee" for, its not funny you know, its one of the oldest veggie put downs around.

So, you are neither funny nor original, I guess all that brain food isn't doing you muh good eh ?

Vegatables don't have a nervous system, but i guess there is no point in discssing that, is there ?

I pick my vegetables in my garden and I hear nothing !
it's all peaceful !

my neighbour goes in her chicken run and I hear screaming !

I love both fruits and fresh vegetables better, however they look and taste. You desire a little of both.

In the event that it's a fruit it includes seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.

Salads aren't all vegetarians eat. We eat what you eat, just minus the meat :)
