i think i have something and i would like to get tested but i am really really really scared to see what the outcome is. i dont think i have it, but my worst fear is getting told that i have HIV or something. i know that this may sound dumb and i just need to face the music and get over it, what can help me out? does anyone have any experience with this?

The HIV test is a blood test, you get your blood taken, and come back in a few weeks for the results. For most of the other STDs you have to have a pelvic exam, and the doctor takes a sample of your vaginal secretions for testing. Not a bit deal. But if you feel you need to be tested, don't wait. Some STDs can lead to infertility.

It doesn't sound dumb!! I got HIV tested yesterday. If you get tested the doctor will talk to you about HIV, he's gonna ask you some questions and finally, you are gonna get your blood taken. Well, i got tested yesterday for the first time, i am so scared about the results, i just cry and cry, i'm extremely depressed. Yesterday, while I was getting tested, i was shaking, i wanted to cry. Now, i'm still scared of course, even more than yesterday, i can't sleep, i can't concentrate, i'm just waiting the results and hoping everything is gonna be alright. You should get tested, it's the best way to know. I know it's scary, but sooner or later you will know it. Good luck!!!!!!

it is a scary thing to do. not only because you feel like if you have HIV that you'll get AIDS and die but also feel stupid for not taking proper precautions. i don't go to my regular Dr to have myself tested. contact the local office for HIV and AIDS. some are listed as no aids foundation, or call the your local health unit. these testing facilities are better equiped to help you if the results are positive and offer support if necessary. everybody there knows what you are going through and they don't judge or look at you weird.

the worse test physically is the gonorrhea and chlamydia test but emotionally is the HIV test but just get it done you will be alright every time I take a HIV test I get scared even if I have not done anything

Yes I was in this position, I had someone very close to me read the results, I'm clear..TG
But let me say this, if Anyone is having unprotected sex, shame on you, this disease is out there, we need to stop it, wear protection if your a guy and if you're a woman and a he Won't wear one, then walk on by..just say No, if your that horny..go home !!

Im sure everyone is scared about it if they have reason to believe there is the slightest chance they could have something
just relax and get it done with, you dont want to be worrying about it if you dont have anything to worry about right? get it over with, good luck :)
