Play the Music Game by having a friend play some basic chord progressions on either a piano or guitar, and have your guests go around the room, making up lyrics one after another.

Frist, get fun decorations from Oriental Trading Co. Then be sure to have lots of great "island" tunes playing. Anything from Bob Marley or UB40 is good. Serve island type foods like grilled chicken and pineapple kabobs, fresh fruit, chilled peel n' eat shrimp, fruit punch, etc...
If the weather is still warm where you live, play water balloon volleyball. Set up a net and everyone pairs off, each with a towel, Make a ton of water balloons. They have to catch and throw the balloon with the towel and working together.
Be sure to give out a party favor to all of the kids. You can give everyone a silk flower lei as they enter, or you can mix it up. Give the guys leis or a surf necklace and the girls a surf necklace or silk flower hair clip. You can find these items as well as some fun themed gifts for your birthday girl at Breezy Beach Wear (www.breezybeachwear.com).
As long as there is good music playing and good food to eat, they will have a great time!

At the beach you can swim (obviously) play beach volleyball or frisbee, have a sand castle building contest, things like that. You could also have a water balloon/water gun fight. As for games in general, Twister is always fun. Truth or dare, hide and seek outside in the dark, you can clear some space and dance or sing karaoke. For food, you should have a lot of snack type stuff. Different kinds of chips and dip, pretzels, trail mix, stuff like that. For dinner you could make your own pizzas, or have a bbq and serve hot dogs and hamburgers. You could also have popcorn, a variety of candy, and a sundae bar or some other frozen treats. Make sure you have a variety of sodas, some juice, and water. You could set up a fire in the backyard and make smores, or just roast marshmallows. As for music, have a good variety. Play the popular hip hop songs right now, songs that are upbeat and will make people want to dance. Play some of the most popular rock songs right now, along with a few country songs and maybe some techno. You could also have glowsticks for when it gets dark.

Ships and sailors, lovers leap, man-over board, twister and LIMBO.
Terriakki chicken on the stick, haiwiian pizza, mangos and pineapples in a dished out real pineapple with a yogurt or chocolate dip (maybe from a chocolate fountain). Cake diarama with 2 cakes connectected by a swinging bridge over a riverscape or mountain set up, or chocolate oozing volcanoe cake (mmmm) Lots of CD's and maybe designate a DJ. Bar B Q using a mango and pineapple sauce. Need some cheap skirts and flower garlands every where. Tikii torches if it is outside, with a fire pit ...
Have fun!

strangely enough apple bobbing's fun.

You could do kitsch pastiches of games like musical chairs, pass the parcle etc. However in a funny sort of way - after all your daughter proberbly wont ever get a chance to play party games again.
