maybe use this mix for te burger in it, then use the sloppy joe mix from the store???
Title: VEGGIE BURGER MIX
Categories: Vegetables
Yield: 12 Servings
0.50 c Dry garbanzo beans
0.50 c Dry soybeans
0.50 c Dry lentils
0.50 c Yellow split peas
0.50 c Instant brown rice
0.50 c Rolled oats
1.00 pk Dry soup mix or
Salad dressing mix
0.25 c Bread crumbs
0.25 c Cornmeal
1.50 ts Baking soda
Put the ingredients one by one in a blender. Turn on the blender.
Run for cover (it's pretty noisy). When everything is reduced to
powder, combine i a container. To use, mix 1 cup of the mix with 2/3
cup HOT water or combination of water and BBQ sauce, water and wine,
or whatever other liqui you can think of. Let sit 15 minutes, then
form into 3 patties. Cook in a pan coated with nonstick spray. NOTE:
If you use BBQ sauce as part of the liquid, they wi brown much faster
~ must be the sugar in the sauce. This recipe makes 4 cu of dry mix.
The variations for this are endless, as you can use different dry
mixes. Good Seasons makes fat free dry salad dressing mixes, and
there are lots of different flavors of soup mix (I think onion soup
would be good). You coul also use the dry seasoning mixes, like the
taco seasoning, etc. Some of the are fairly high in sodium, but I
would think that in a quantity of mix, it would average out to an
acceptable level.

Here you can find a nice step by step guide on how to grow mushrooms at home http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=573
If you always liked mushrooms, mushroom growing is a great way to assure your family of a regular supply of this excellent food. Many people think that growing mushrooms takes some special kind of skill, or at least extremely specialized growing conditions. But this is absolutely not true. In reality, mushrooms are as easy to grow as anything else, and can be a good deal easier to grow than many kinds of food.
Have a nice day

Quorn and Morningstar Farms make something similar in texture (they say taste too but it's better) to ground beef that you can sub in sloppy joes (chili too). Some people like to mince tofu and use that instead of meat, but it's a lot of work and since tofu has very little taste of it's own I think that tastes awful.
