Don't know about 'political correctness' but as a matter of etiquette you could ask to use the 'Rest Room', The 'Ladies Room' or the 'Men's Room'.
It is polite to say 'May I use the toilet please?' or even the word 'Lavatory'. or 'I need to leave the room.'
You would never mention what you are going to do although in informal gatherings you may say 'I need to take a leek' but never mention the other.

I need to use the restroom. Other than that not much. If you are speaking to a health care pro urinate and bowel movement. A child pee and poo.

It doesn't matter because well mannered people don't announce that they are performing bodily functions.
At the doctor use BM and void.
"Excuse me, I will return shortly" is enough in any other situation.
