You should start at eight weeks, very gently introduce it, take it off.
Do it every day, make her sit whilst you put it on.
make it part of your going for walk routine, even if its only 20 steps around the lawn.

I had to muzzle train my whippets for amatur racing. Starting as soon as their head was big enough that the nose reached into the basket of a basket muzzle - hold it over their nose for ONE second telling them they are a GOOD DOG. Lenghen the time slowly each day all the time prasing & petting so they are too distracted soaking up the loving to fight with the muzzle. whne thire up to a good minute you can start with a happy, fun short walk......
Lots of dogs trained this way will try to put their own muzzles on..

Start as early as possible. Also, try it in the house, just to get dog used to it, show dog that there is nothing to be affraid of and that this is quite a normal part of every day life.
If you get freaked out doing it, or show the dog that you are not happy with it, then dog will pick up on this and try to fight having it put on.
Good luck!

Early as possible but only when you are going for a walk. That way she will connect the muzzle with a walk thus making it a less bitter pill to swallow.

i won't agree, cats in many situations kill birds and different small creatures yet that isn't a reason to call for all cats to be muzzled or limited indoors. As a existence long dogs and cat proprietor i think of that your reaction is an over reaction to what grow to be an extremely unhappy yet uncommon incident canines hate to be muzzled and it is not honest to punish all of them in favour of something which occurs a strategies much less in many situations than the huge volume of situations cats kill different creatures. that's the vendors who could be punished whilst they fail to maintain their canines under administration, not the canines.

Strange law. It should be applied to vicious breeds and not based on size/weight. Labs are wonderful animals and the least likely to bite. Daschunds, on the other hand, tend to snap.

Excellent law. I wish the law also applied to American radio talk show hosts, like Rush Limbaugh!
