my sister is getting married, & has asked that as the maid of honour, i shop around for some wedding favour / invitation ideas. She is having the service & reception in summer, scotland, lovely old castle... her colours are white, brushed silver / grey.... any abolutely unique ideas? i was wanting the invitation to hold half of a something which would join with the other half from the favour, to make whole memoir... but any ideas would be most appreciated! thanks peeps!

That's a cute idea, but it won't work.

See, a family of three will receive one invitation. At the wedding, they will each receive a favor. Then they will have one complete memoir and two halves.

I'd play up the Scotland bit with both the favors and the invitations. It sounds like she's going very formal, so you want a formal invitation. Heavy cream stock with silver text, and perhaps a dark grey ribbon accent, would be very classy and elegant. The favors should be a bit grander than what you'd find at most receptions, since the guests are coming all the way out to Scotland.

How about making customized book marks and then give each guest a book as the favor?

Go to a professional and tell them the story. They will be able to create what you want. Don't leave something like this to us. We really don't know.
