I must have missed the meeting where it was decided to dislike Canadians. I would love to visit there someday, I hear it's beautiful there in certain times of the year. I also just learned that most Canadians live within 100 miles of the border. It gets too cold in the winter to live farther north.

I wouldn't say Americans don't like Canadians. However some of the more right-wing Americans (eg. Fox News) seem to dislike Canadians because we criticized them for the invasion of Iraq. Before that there were no real issues. We do tend to be a little less right-wing in our politics. For some it might be a question of troubled conscience.
No terrorists 'waltzed in' from Canada. They were actually taught how to fly planes (without learning how to land - they weren't interested in that) - in the US. Also, they were legal residents of the US, weren't they? The USA has actually officially expressed gratitude for Canadian hospitality for tens of thousands of stranded Americans whose planes couldn't fly into the USA during and after the 9-11 crisis.
So no, Americans don't hate Canadians, but some right wing Americans do resent us. In the same way many Canadians resent Americans.

My only complaint against Canadians is as a nation they take little responsibility in world affairs. They allow large groups of Islamic immigrants without vetting for security problems and act as if America is over-reacting when the US is suspicious of a Canadian landed immigrant from Islamastan or Crapistan.

They want to be close to the US economically but not in the life and death struggle against Fascists from the Middle East as if the Fascists will make a distinction between Americans and Canadians.

In my many travels to Canada I found you all to be polite, friendly, and helpful. Although I saw more aggressive driving in Ontario than anywhere in the US including NY.

Apparently, some credulous Americans think the 9/11 hijackers came into this country through Canada.

Who said Americans don't like Canadians? I don't have a problem with them. The ones that I don't like are the ones who think they are better than we are.

All the Canadians I have known have been decent people. I don't hate Canadians. My husband's ancestors came from Canada from the UK and Holland.

I do like Canadians. You haven't done anything to make me dislike any Canadians. Several people I know are Canadians. They are really nice people as far as what I know them as.

Most Americans really like Canadians. Why would we not and who told you we don't? I have been to Canada three times and have had a great trip and time every time. Everyone treated me very well and I really got along with everyone. Had a great time hope to go again someday. I think your news media tries to build something between us though.
