Call from a payphone disguising your voice (or get someone else to do it). Ask if Mark is there, assuming his name isn't Mark, he'll say you have the wrong number so you'd say "oh, who is this then?". May work!
You need to do whatever you can to find out. Imagine you bumped into your friends while out together and you have you have to introduce him, eek!
Alternatively you could stalk his postman?

I like this question. You could ring him up on a withheld number or on a work or home phone and hope he answers saying Hi this is Steve. If it goes through to voice mail even better as he might have a pre-recorded message. Alternatively have a friend ring him up and say who's this I got a call from this number.... Or ask him if he has any nicknames and see if you can work it out for that.

Ask him what his middle name is, and when he responds say "so that makes your full name...." and just trail off. Hopefully he's not like my Dad and goes by his middle name...
Or, when he calls, say "who's this?" and he'll say his name. If he acts confused, ask if he has a cold or something, because he sounded different, or say that you had a bad connection on your cell phone. Have one of your friends answer the phone when it rings, and say you're in the bathroom and will call back soon, who should she say is calling?
You could also ask him what his Parent's names are, that way you'll get his last name, and call him Mr. LastName jokingly until something else comes along.

First of all, what do you have him in your phone as?? The next time he rings you answer by saying 'Hello whos this?' that will hopefully trigger him off to say 'its....' and then you can say oh sorry its just that it came up on my my phone as private/witheld number. A little white lie wont hurt. Hope this helps Xx

You could start asking trivia questions: Where were you born? What is your full given name on your birth certificate? How many siblings do you have? Then branch off to less specific things, so it doesn't start to sound like you're stalking.... =)

Just call him 'darling' the whole time, and hope that at some point in the next 25 years he mentions it again.
Now who says Men never listen!

dont know about the 'how do you spell it' advice, what if its John, you will look like an idiot!
i would go with the 'get a friend to ring him' advice, if it doesnt work you have lost nothing at least. ask him if he was named after his father or something?

Just ask him, most guys are more intrested in girls that don`t seem to easy, so if you tell him you forgot his name, he will think your not that intrested, its a challenge when you set out to get someone, and MEN or GUYS love a challenge, thats why they love hunting, so you will seem like a challenge to him. Good luck , and keep him guessing. lol

Just come out and ask him. Be straight forward. It's not like all of us haven't been in a similar situation. You guys can laugh about it later. Your over thinking it and it's not a earth shattering thing. Just say hey I was so in to our conversation I forgot your name and make a joke about it. Let me know how it goes...................................

Ask a freind to ring his number, and then ask who they are speaking to, apolagies it must be a wrong number and hang up, there you go you have his name. I am glad women do this as well I thought it was just me and my forgetful mind.
