ambulance involved in a collision should stop, then next als or bls unit should be dispatched to the call the unit was en route to. if the ambulance drove by an accident it did not cause it will continue to the original call and call for the next available unit.

well i would say it has to stop and attend to them.. then they will have to call for another ambulance to go to the other accident or emergency or wherever it was going in the first place... seems like the only logical thing to do...

well they wont just leave them there,depending on what has happened and how serious it is, they would call for some back up anyway
