down under yes I would much rather go to an old fashioned take away shop to get a good old fashioned Burger with the works including beetroot yum then go to McDonald's

Mmm I love beetroot on a burger or in a sandwich. I, too, come from Aus and I think it's a great tradition. But if you don't like it then you don't like it. Food is a matter of preference, there's no right or wrong, or belonging or not belonging. If you don't want it then ask for no beetroot - that's what I do with tomato because I hate it with a passion.

It belongs in a jar of Vinegar here in the UK.

I don't think more than 1% of the population has ever eaten a none pickled beetroot?

I am going to try it though just to check as I may be being a bit hasty!
