Tough choice. They're both exceptionally bright and focused.
I think I want a brain surgeon who subscribes to People magazine, Entertainment Weekly, and watches CNN. A brain surgeon will have staff in the office who talk nonsense & gossip, so it's fair to assume he or she will have picked up a thing or two that could be useful for a pub quiz in the staff room.
My idea of a rocket scientist is someone who spends a lot of time alone in a room with a gigantic blackboard, a computer, and a pocket protector. Not much social interaction, or reading outside the field working there.
Yeah. The brain surgeon. Definitely.

My own preference would be the Rocket Scientist as it sounds really cool, but this is a hard question, as the Rockets Scientist is going to have extensive knowledge of Physics and chemistry, while the Brain Surgeon will have knowledge of Biology and Chemistry.

Brain surgeon, because after the pub quiz I like to instigate a fight in the car park if I lose and I reckon the brain surgeon is pretty tasty with a blade.

The surgeon - better at thinking on his feet. The rocket scientist will want to ponder over each question for a week.
Both of them are probably to absorbed in their career to be of much use in a general knowledge/ pop-culture type quiz however.

Agree with Axel on this one. You need someone with great general knowledge and trivia recall. The scientist and surgeon probably don't have time to read and hear titbits which are useful in a pub quiz.

Neither. They're too specialised in their field to know much about general knowledge.
It's better to have an unemployed guy that does nothing but read "interesting facts" than someone who has to work in a very specific field.
