I do know people with a strong belief in their religion who still see that other people have a right to their own, but they are very few and far between.
Generally I think that your premise is right. The real trouble starts when people are not so sure in their belief as they'd like others and themselves to think. Then they have to shout very loudly at them to silence their own doubts.

There is only ONE version of Faith.
But there are many Levels.
Children of GOD Walking on a Higher Level of Faith, sometimes have a hard time relating to Children of GOD on a Lower Level, UNLESS that Lower Level Child wants to come up to a Higher Level.
GOD will not go against your Free-Will.

The only trouble with faith is where you put it. We all have faith. Faith in what is the problem. Did you know that most of the people who believe in Jesus didn't believe until God proved( to them) He was real?

You are absolutely correct -- and we should all try to be tolerant of others views.
Big problems occur if you join a church where bullies insist that their faith is the only one.
Then you become a victim of Spiritual Abuse. There are sites and forums describing the techniques that these people use to intimidate -- condemnation from the pulpit: use of powerful gossip-groups: gossip public-prayers:etc.
The solution is to leave that church and find a more compassionate one.
(Apologies -- I think I've gone off message here.)

Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life - No one comes to the Father except through the Son. That is the REAL version of Christianity - it is not "religion." That is the version all Christians showing be following - not the church (although I do go to church) and its traditions.

No, the trouble with faith is not having any at all in anything. I have faith in Christ as my Lord and savior. I also have faith in my friends loyalty, in my family's love, in my boyfriends love and loyalty. There are many things that require faith. You are concerned with spiritual faith and particularly, at least in the past, with trying to make Christians question theirs and their beliefs in God. I wonder, what do you have faith in anything?

Faith is like Microsoft Windows...there are many different versions of essentially the same thing, with occasional different add-ons, and getting them to communicate with each other is ridiculously difficult, though it can be done by the equivalent of spiritual techies - atheists, in fact...

My faith doesn't have anything to do with someone else's faith. they can believe whatever they choose, as long as it doesn't hurt me personally, and God will sort it out. Matter of fact they can believe anything they want even if it does hurt me.
Trust me.

I am not religious. Yet I see your point and think you are correct on that. I think that each religion holds its truth to ONLY the people who believe in it. What is right for some don't make it right for everyone.
