Are these people nuts???? Roman Catholicism was THE FIRST christian religion. All the other religions break off and change little things. First Lutheran broke off, etc. So if every christian religion broke away and changed something they didn't like does that mean NO ONE is going to heaven? Doesn't make any sense! Priests are the ones who perform exorcisms, hello?! How can people judge like that?

also, miriam you need to get your facts straight. go into a catholic church and tell me if you see a crucifix or a statue of the pope. you're just as ignorant as your father. you have no right to call anyone mislead when catholics were the beginning of christianity. I worship God. I don't know about you.

People judge things because they are different not because they are evil. Most of what society has deemed evil in the past was merely what the Church found different. So now the world is judging the Church or Churches. So be it. That is nothing new. Why do you think there are so many religions in the world. People created them to worship God in a different way. Here's a clue. one day we will all learn who was right and who was wrong and some will be happy and the rest will have been mislead, but; one thing is for certain, the truth will come out and that will be that. Oh yea , the Orthodox Church broke off long before the Lutherans in the so called great scism when there were to capitals for the Church one in Rome and one in Constantinople.

No they are not nuts just a little informed. My dad always used to say a little knowledge is a very dangerous thing. Just as in your statement there are a few things missing in there knowlegde of the RCC. They were not the first christian denomination, the Greek Orthodox were. If you had done a little reading in the christian hand book you would have found that the first time christianity was mensioned by name was in Antioch. The RCC has been around for quiet some time and has had more than enough time to make a few very heavy mistakes, but this does not give any of us the right to lable the church as evil. this in the past and even people in the past might have been evil, but the church? I think not. I think we have forgoten the main commandment that Jesus gave his followers, that we should love one anouther!!! Not put one anouther down.

What you are saying about Catholicism is to a large extent true - but if you go back to the beginning, they were all Jews. Tell me how much the Catholics also changed from that. Joshua (Jesus) had disciples, read in the Jewish assembly (synagouge), and make no mistake about it - they worshipped as Jews. Paul (who called himself a Pharisee in Acts 23) brought Gentiles into the body of Christ and grafted them in.
Regarding going to heaven, etc. - I think people generally misunderstand that. Want it to be "if you don't follow my religion, you are going to hell..." - but the scriptures say differently.

thank you for your message but being a practising Catholic wont help you. only Jesus saves and you must know him personaly. I remember my dad saying catholics were worse than athiests. I did not understand it at the time, I was 11. but do now, you are as mislead as muslims. look to God and Jesus not the pope or priests. being first does not make it best in fact Jesus came to do away with traditions. dont the catholic church have more traditions and idals than any other church denomination
I have not sead you worship the pope but if you interprit my message as that it says more abouty you and the church than I intended but obviusly you know more about being a practicing catholic than I would wish to may God bless you and open your eyes to his truth try reading the bible

I used to be Catholic. Sadly you have a lot to learn from history. Constantine was the first pope... not Peter. Peter was executed by the Romans.
There are many teachings in the Catholic Church that do not agree with Scripture. And you can find that in the Catholic versions as well. If you want to write me.. I will be happy to help answer any questions you have.

it's easy for people to judge that which they do not know. also, careful you're boung to get chastized becausse you think Catholicism was the first Christian religion ; )
while it is true, that the off shoots that came centuries later are nothing but people who couldn't obey the rules, they are still our brothers & sisters in Christ.
please don't be offended when people spit & curse the Catholic - rather rejoice in God and offer kind words in return.

they've attempted to monopolize religion and to force the fear of eternal damnation down the throats of children, not to mention a slew of murderous popes. I grew up a catholic and I can't stand them....Catholocism is not the first of anything. It's just an amalgamation of various middle eastern mythologies....

I've notice whenever some knob head says something out of place, you really take it to heart.
You really need to stop doing this and ignore them for the d!cks they are.
Don't get yourself stressed out over some tosser. You're going to make yourself ill & we don't want that do we.
