You very probably could but I still wouldn't recommend it because of the varying recessive genes that you may not want to burden your offspring with. Five generations is a "safe" zone provided that there's no obvious problems; but look at dear Queen Victoria...the hemophaelia came out of nowheres (yes, I know, her and Albert were fist cousins) Have a good one.

What's once perceivable problem of incests. Inbreeding, certain genes when combined with another set of genes that are too closely similar causes hereditary deffects. Ofcourse not all genes are activated and immediately carried to the offspring sometimes its takes generations before a set genes is activated. The offsprings are just carriers. Which is also a problem? You do the math? If you think your great great grandfather is not a carrier or your line of family have no defective genes to worry. Y not?
A question is what does one gain intermating? Wealth? Title? ...

That would still be called incest. And when two parents share the same genetics and have children, those children will have some type of deformity, whether physically or mentally. This isn't a good idea. Plus, I don't want to picture my 1000 yr old great-grandfather naked. Yuck!

hmm, let me think abou this...well, the answer would be, that you couldn't even if you wanted to. first off it would be incest. secondly, the world would be so overpopulated, that the government, would regulate how many babies were born every X amount of years, and also you have to figure in violence. even if people did live that long, that wouldn't mean they couldn't die, due to a bullet, disease, etc.... oh, and lastly? why would you choose your great great grandfather, anyways, when there would be millions of other people to choose from?

Ok so moving past the part of that all being sick and wrong in the thought of it all, you do realize that inbreeding weather it be animals or humans cause MANY problems in genetics. Plus when you introduce your family to someone what will you say; Hi this is my son's father, my great grandpa my son who happens to be my grandpa. YOU WILL GIVE BIRTH TO YOUR OWN GRANDFATHER ......YOU JUST MIGHT BE A REDNECK

Actually, it probably would be OK. The reason most societies have taboos against incest is to avoid the harmful effects of inbreeding. But your great-great-grandfather would be sufficiently genetically distant from you for there to be little risk in your having his baby.

Sit back and look at your question...Look at it again.
YOU DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT?!? What kind of question is that? Your great, GREAT grandfather. He would be at least 35-40 years older than you. That's besides the fact that you are RELATED TO HIM!!! What the nonsense?!? Go see someone and find out what's wrong with you!!!

I have a slightly different slant - if people lived that long and the rate of births continued as it is now - where would everybody fit in. Only the tall ones with big noses could breath......
