It is possible of course, but nobody does that because it is unprofessional to fly alone, and not cost effective (why carry only one when you can carry twenty). Even battle helicopters such as the American AH-64 Apache have a crew of 2 so that they can cover each other if situations arise.

there was an episode of ''mythbusters'' dealing specifically with the Cody Banks personal helicopter you describe and although it is possible to build a personal helicopter, it is hardly practical
