Why do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front?

The pharmacy is usually at the back of the store as that's where it's most likely to be free from shop lifters and drug robbers etc. Strong drug cabinets can even be buried in the wall. Also, they can make much better use of the space than if they were jammed into one side of the shop.

because if they put the drugs up front some a--hole will surely come in and rob them, as for the cigarettes , given time the people that use them will have to walk to the back and get their medicine too

Certain medicines are only sold with prescritions and there are drugs where addicts might just runaway with it . It is just a precautionary measure.
