Some people who take Depakote have bad dreams. I know of two personally, and quite a few I've seen mention it online. Your doctor will most likely tell you to give it a couple weeks before deciding anything about changing it to something else, but if it's really bothersome, you should tell the doctor.

I did in the beginning - but they have gone away. I think it depends on the person and the medication.

i couldn't sleep unless i took a strong dose of sleeping pills so i don't remember nightmares, but i know i couldn't sleep without extra meds

yeh, really horrible nightmares. it sucks but i guess its just a side-effect of the medication
