My father is in extreme pain in his right foot - he has been told its a fallen arch - and having read a little about Trigeminal Neuralgia, which he had for 15 years, I think this might be causing the Neuropathic pain. It appears in his right foot as extrmely sharpe pain, burning and hypersenstive.

Neuropathic pain (NeP) is a type of chronic pain caused by injury or disease of the nervous system that frequently results in a burning, tingling and shock-like sensation.

Nerve pain is often puzzling and frustrating for people with NeP and physicians, as it seems to respond poorly to standard pain therapies. It also can last indefinitely, may escalate over time and can result in disability.

The symptoms of neuropathic pain can be mild to incapacitating and are often progressive. Treatments may include antidepressants, opioids, NSAIDs and anticonvulsants, however, only a few are approved for the treatment of neuropathic pain.

Lipoic acid 300-600 mg daily is used in Europe. MonaVie juice seems to help some (but not all) chronic pain conditions. Adelle Davis use high dose B vitamins (B50 to B100) in cases of neuropathy, but again with limited success. The Aspirin Alternative, Magnet Therapy, and The Miracle of MSM might be an interesting read for unusual approaches to the management of severe chronic pain sufferers.
Good luck!
