How do you tell how many exposures have been shot on a Nikon D70?

With Opanda iExif. It will tell you the total number of shots taken: http://www.opanda.com/cgi-bin/anylog/list.cgi?cmd=view&user=web&group=1&page=1
The Nikon D70 (and D70s) are built to last at least 50,000 actuations. After 50,000 shots, the shutter will be the first part to go. You can fix it, but it's a +$300 repair.

When you review your photos, it will tell you which number out of the total number of photos a particular one is, for example, 1 of 30.
