The New Testament abrogated this. But still, the New Testament fell terribly short to trace Mary to the blood line of Solomon or even David. Here is more proofs from the www.jewsforjudaism.com web site:
1) According to the Jewish Bible, the Messiah must be a descendent of King David. (Jeremiah 23:5, 33:17; Ezekiel 34:23-24) Although the Greek Testament traces the genealogy of Joseph (husband of Mary) back to David, it then claims that Jesus resulted from a virgin birth, and, that Joseph was not his father. (Mat. 1:18-23) In response, it is claimed that Joseph adopted Jesus, and passed on his genealogy via adoption.
There are two problems with this claim:
a) there is no Biblical basis for the idea of a father passing on his tribal line by adoption. A priest who adopts a son from
another tribe cannot make him a priest by adoption;
b) Joseph could never pass on by adoption that which he doesn’t have. Because Joseph descended from Jeconiah (Mat. 1:11) he fell under the curse of that king that none of his descendants could ever sit as king upon the throne of David. (Jeremiah 22:30; 36:30).
To answer this difficult problem, apologists claim that Jesus traces himself back to King David through his mother Mary, who allegedly descends from David, as shown in the third chapter of Luke. There are four basic problems with this claim:
a] There is no evidence that Mary descends from David. The third chapter of Luke traces Joseph’s genealogy, not Mary’s.
b] Even if Mary can trace herself back to David, that doesn’t help Jesus, since tribal affiliation goes only through the father, not mother. Cf. Num. 1:18; Ezra 2:59.
c] Even if family line could go through the mother, Mary was not from a legitimate Messianic family. According to the Bible, the Messiah must be a descendent of David through his son Solomon (II Sam. 7:14; I Chron. 17:11-14, 22:9-10, 28:4-6) The third chapter of Luke is useless because it goes through David’s son Nathan, not Solomon. (Luke 3:31)
d] Luke 3:27 lists Shealtiel and Zerubbabel in his genealogy. These two also appear in Matthew 1:12 as descendants of the cursed Jeconiah. If Mary descends from them, it would also disqualify her from being a Messianic progenitor.
Now my question to all dear christans is that;
IF Jesus was crucified, he couldn’t have been the Messiah, the Anointed is always victorious (Psalms 18:50, 132: 10-11), and God protects him (Luke 22:43, Hebrews 5:7). Remember also if someone who claims to be messiah but dies during his mission ,is a lier.

Jesus could not have foreseen his rejection, death, and resurrection, as the idea of a suffering, dying, and rising Messiah or son of Man was unknown to Judaism. (Israel Knohl, The Messiah before Jesus, The Suffering Servant of the Dead Sea Scrolls, p. 2)
Only 16% of all events whereby Jesus was the principal actor are historically accurate and only 18% of the Jesus sayings—primarily parables and aphorisms- are historically accurate http://www.westarinstitute.org/Jesus_Seminar/jesus_seminar.html
Some of the events in the early mission of Jesus] were not strictly true but were added to the story of Jesus by the early Christians to express their faith in him as a Messiah." [London Daily Mail, page 12, 15/July/1984]
Jesus made it clear that salvation is not attained through blood sacrifice, but simply keeping the commandments of God.
16Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"

17"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments." (Matthew 19:16-17)
In John 19:36-37 from the Bible and proved that Jesus never got crucified, since GOD Almighty promised that he will protect Jesus' body and not let even a single bone be broken. My question to all Christians is: How in the world is it possible for the feet to get nailed on the cross without any penetration to the bones by the nails, hence breaking part of the feet's bones?!

From your question itself I understood that you are a muslim.

Ok you taught and believe that the Bible is corrupt. ain't it?
If you cant accept the truth about Jesus Christ, you believe what you are taught. None is urging you to become a Christian and God is not threatening you with Hell fire and dooms for your unbelief.

Genesis 2 : 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Mathew 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

What we believe is that none of the words of God are/were just accidental, Our God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob see the end at the beginning.

You might be able to accuse of trap us using the literal word of God (The printed book). But understand one thing one day you will have to give account to God for all these.

What evidence for Bible inspiration emerges when we compare Old Testament prophecies of the coming Messiah with New Testament happenings in the life of Jesus?

The Bible says, "And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He [Jesus] expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself." Luke 24:27. "For he [Apollos] vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ." Acts 18:28, NKJV.*

Answer: The Old Testament predictions of the Messiah to come were so specific and so clearly fulfilled by Jesus of Nazareth that both Jesus and Apollos used these prophecies to prove to the Jews that Jesus was, indeed, the Messiah. There are more than 125 of these prophecies. Let's review just 12 of them:

Prophecy Old Testament Scripture New Testament
Fulfillment

1. Born in Bethlehem Micah 5:2 Matthew 2:1

2. Born of a virgin Isaiah 7:14 Matthew 1:18-23

3. Of David's lineage Jeremiah 23:5 Revelation 22:16

4. Attempted murder by Herod Jeremiah 31:15 Matthew 2:16-18

5. Betrayal by a friend Psalms 41:9 John 13:18, 19, 26

6. Sold for 30 silver coins Zechariah 11:12 Matthew 26:14-16

7. Crucified Zechariah 12:10 John 19:16-18, 37

8. Lots cast for His clothes Psalms 22:18 Matthew 27:35

9. No bones broken Psalms 34:20; Exodus 12:46 John 19:31-36

10. Buried in rich man's tomb Isaiah 53:9 Matthew 27:57-60

11. Year, day, hour of His death Daniel 9:26, 27; Exodus 12:6 Matthew 27:45-50

12. Raised the third day Hosea 6:2 Acts 10:38-40

Jesus fullfilled more than 125 Old Testament prophecies concerning the Messiah.

Dr. Peter Stoner, former chairman of the departments of mathematics, astronomy, and engineering at Pasadena College (California), worked with 600 students for several years applying the "principle of probability" to the prophecies of the Messiah's coming. They chose just eight from the many available and finally decided the chances of all eight being fulfilled in one man in a lifetime is one in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. What would the odds be on the more than 125 prophecies of the Messiah? It couldn't just happen!

The two geneologies are in fact Joseph's and Mary's. In Luke, it says that Joseph was Jesus's father by public opinion, and then begins with the lineage. Joseph is not the link here, but rather simply a mention. It jumps straight from Jesus to his grandfather. We can see this because the name of the grandfather is different in both. Joseph could not have two fathers (it wasn't as acceptable then as it is now). As Matthew directly says that the grandfather was father to Joseph, Luke must be Mary's lineage. Why is Mary not mentioned? Well, there are no women mentioned in the lineage of Luke, and they are varely mentioned in Matthew. It was general sentiment at the time that a man was son of his father, not his mother, so the women were skipped, or their husbands were listed.

As to the victory comment, Jesus was victorious. He completed his mission and perofmred the ransom sacrifice. Yeah, God would protect him, except when he needed to allow the death to pay back the ransom. It wouldn't make sense to send him down then save him from his mission.

The genealogies are what they are. They were included specifically so the reader could make the necessary connections, and for no other reason. I suggest you are the one who is misreading them.

The geneologies show that the Blessed Virgin descended from both the kingly line of David and the priestly line of the Levites.

Jesus had to die, just as he predicted, in order to destroy Satan's power. This was his first victory.

His most definitive and triumphant victory was won at the resurrection, when, purely by his own power, he also defeated death and hell.

If Jesus actually stayed dead, than I would agree with your assessment. SInce he didn't, than I don't.

Remember, God doesn't lie.

I think Mary's bloodline could be traced back to Ruth, who gave birth to Jesse who was the father of David. Now concerning your question that someone who claims to be the messiah, but dies during his mission is a liar. In the Old Testament, the Israelites, had to offer a lamb without blemish each year, for the atonement of sins. Jesus Our Lord and Saviour became that lamb. He took our transgressions upon Him, so that we could come unto the Father through Him, as God is holy. Now He is the High priest, who interceeds for us with God the Father. He rose from the dead, as He did what His Father asked from Him, to give His Life as a ransom for many and all who believe. Therefore God has given all judgment into His hands. Read Isaiah 53

First of all you need to go by the King James Version. That version is not accurate and not the "inspired word of God" written by the prophets of God. The stuff I read you wrote is way out there..especially Christ "NOT" dying on the cross for our sins. And calling him a liar..this my friend is Blasmphemy. Jesus did die on the cross at stated in Matthew 25 and in John and in Mark.

All the prophecies has been fulled except the return of Christ (the second coming). And the 1,000 year reign in Heaven and then the return to earth to setup the Heaven on earth;thus killing Satan at the same time and living forever and ever after more. We are now just waiting on the last day events..moon turn to blood, sun to scorch men, the plagues of Egypt is to return. This is only going to effect those that receive the Mark of the Beast. If you don't get the Mark of the beast; then you will be free of the plagues. (READ THE ENTIRE CHAPTER OF MATT. 24. IT TELLS OF THE THINGS TO COME BEFORE THE RETURN OF CHRIST.) Beware of false Christ..etc. Maybe that is what you mean on being a "liar"..false Christ..lol! Because some will proclaim to be Christ and BELIEVE IT NOT! Read Matt. 24!! And if you don't know what the Mark of the beast is; I will list a source to find out below. It is SHOCKING!

Had to look up your references. Good question, I never heard that before, I am used to blatant out of context uses of the bible.

The Jeremiah quotes say that he is considered childless and his son will not sit on the throne of David.
1) does not say ever (I only checked 2 versions, in case I missed a word)

2) David's throne is Judah - Jesus rules a larger kingdom. (and he is generally not accepted in Judah)

3) The priestly line of Levi is not needed, In the NT, in Hebrews, it tells all about why Levi was not chosen, but Judah was.

These do not prove your point, but my bets are still on Jesus.

it is a very good question you asked

Then even though Daniel 9 Predicts the exact date which the Messiah would be baptized and die, I guess the real Messiah was lost then.

Remember David was a sinner, as was Adam.

Criss Angel walking on water ...... if you didn't understand when Christ said look within for god and heaven then you missed a real important clue .... and two thirds of the earth
follow Christ as a prophet not a deity the extent of lies to prove the unlying just amazes me ..... ask youself something real like what good can u do instead of wasting time on someone elses depiction do think the Apostles wasted time on such hell no!

What is very important to remember, that the Creator is the one who chose who the Messiah's (Jesus') parents would be. It is He who made the prophecies concerning his Son and what line he would come from and in what way, natural from the mother's side, and legally from the adoptive father's side. It is God who has the right to do things according to His way to accomplish his purposes and fulfill his prophecies. No one has the right to question Him on how he does things.

The main thing is that Jesus was actually the Son of God and the natural heir to the Kingdom by miraculous birth through the virgin girl Mary, of David's line and that Jesus was also the "legal" heir in the male line of descent from David and Solomon, through his adoptive father Joseph. (Luke 1:32, 35; Romans 1:1-4)

God chose Mary, a descendant of David to conceive a child, (Jesus the Messiah.) God used his holy spirit (active force) to do this. Joseph and Mary were the chosen earthly parents of God's Son, Jesus, as a human life.

An important thing to keep in mind, is that during the early Christians' time, the Pharisees and Scribes, as well as the Sadducees were bitter enemies of Christianity, and they would have used any possible argument to discredit Jesus (who rightly claimed to be a descendant of David), but it is noteworthy that, although they tried challenging Jesus on many issues, they never challenged the genealogies that Matthew and Luke listed about Jesus being a descendant of David. If there was a "problem" with Jesus claim of being a descendant of David, you could be sure that the Pharisees, and Scribes would have picked on this. But they couldn't.

Luke follows the ancestry of Mary, showing Jesus' natural descent from David, Matthew shows Jesus' legal right to the throne of David by descent from Solomon through Joseph, who was legally Jesus' father. Both Matthew and Luke signify that Joseph was not Jesus' actual father, but only his adoptive father, which gave him the legal right.

About your statement that "someone who claims to be Messiah, but dies during his mission is a liar"... I don't know what your statement is based on, but to clarify, Jeus did not die "during" his mission, his purpose of being sent to the earth was to die for mankind. (John 3:16) When he died, he accomplished God's will, God's purpose of the Messiah. (John 19:30) He did not die before accomplishing his mission.

As for the Anointed being victorious, Jesus was victorious! He died faithful, he endured to the end, he conquered the world. (John 16:33) His being faithful to death, being fully tested, made him victorious!
He truly was victorious and thus, he was exalted to the second highest position, under God. (Phillipians 2:7-11)

The Bible in itself gives evidence because of the incredible wisdom contained in it, that it is the inspired word of God. (2Timothy 3:16.) So, it is logical to trust what is says about everything, including that Jesus is the Messiah, who descended from the line of David. Which the Bible shows Jesus fulfilled every prophecy about the Messiah, some of which were:

Born of the tribe of Judah (Genesis 49:10; Luke 3:23-33), Born of a virgin(Isaih 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25), Descended from King David(Isaiah 9:7; Matthew 1:1,6-17), Declared by God to be his Son (Psalm 2:7; Matthew 3:17), that he would not be believed in (Isaiah 53:1; John 12:37,38), he entered Jerusalem riding an ***(donkey) (Zechariah 9:9; Matthew 21:1-9), betrayed by a close associate(Psalm 41:9; John 13:18, 21-30) Remember Judas?, betrayed for 30 pieces of silver(Zechariah 11:12; Matthew 26:14-16), silent before his accusers(Isaiah 53:7; Matthew 27:11-14), lots cast for his garments(Psalm 22:18; Matthew 27:35), reviled while on the torture stake(Psalm 22:7,8; Matthew 27:39-43), none of his bones being broken(Psalm 34:20; John 19:33,36), buried with the rich(Isaiah 53:9; Matthew27:57-60), raised before corruption(Psalm 16:10; Acts 2:24,27), exalted to God's right hand. (Psalm 110:1; Acts 7:56)

Incredibly, as with all of Jehovah God's prophecies in the Bible, they are completely accurate.
