Yes. Yes I did. Unfortunately, few know this. Christianity was made the official religion of the Roman Empire, and to try to attract people, pagan elements were added in, such as what happened with Easter, the pagan winter celebration that became Christmas, and some teachings such as the Trinity.
EDIT: Just an added thing I forgot to mention earlier. People say that we should still celebrate them, as they've been turned into "Christian" holidays. However, think back to the Golden Calf. They did not say they were worshipping some weird god of the sky, or seas, or anything like that. Ther were worshipping God himself through the idol. Did that make it any better? No. The bowing before idols was a practice of the Egyptian pagans, and a part of false worship. Therefore it was still wrong, even if given a mask of being right.

Yes I did, and you are right. However, who cares, it's a Holiday that we can take off and have fun with the family. If you want to take the time to think about a religious event, why not? Example, Christ's birthday is not in the of winter. But, who cares? my birthday was celebrated in January once but it's July. Point is have time off for fun and family and remember an event that may or may not have happened around that time.

The roots of a tradition have little to do with a religious event hundreds of years after the fact. People observe the resurrection of Jesus to be reminded of what He did. If they have the date wrong, blame it on the ancient church, but I don't see that this far removed from the pagan festivals that it makes one whit of difference.
You want to take away Easter observance? Replace it with something more biblically correct.................

The memorial of Jesus should be exactly what his new covenant (Catholic) church determines it to be, and solely by the authority he granted to it alone.
Where does your authority come from?
