Breast reduction is definitely an option. It is worth a shot, however, to try a little strength training first. You can start with push ups and crunches (abs are also important for carrying weight). It may not fix you up 100%, so don't expect that. But if it feels like it is helping, you could see about getting a personal trainer for about a month or so to help you learn how to safely do a little weight training. Just try to stick to free weights where possible (they work out a lot of supporting muscles machines don't). If you do go that route, let your doctor know, and let the trainer know you have scoliosis. They may rule out and/or recommend certain exercises for you.

i saw a report on the news one night and they were talking about the effects a heavy school bag can have on children. and they said that it is one of the main causes of postural scoliosis but it also depends on what type of bag it is and how they wear it. so if the backpack is down low on their back it will force them to lean forward to balance it out. if they are wearing a one shoulder bag then it will cause them to lean to the side. they said that the best way to wear a bag is in the middle of the back. not too high but yet not too low.

of course they do! also by their position at the desk while writing or reading, or in front of a pc. i've had scoliosis as a kid and it takes hours and hours of special gymnastics to ameliorate it.
as far as carrying bags is concerned i would recommend carrying them on the back properly anchored to both shoulders, not just on one...this avoids a lumpy back and neck..if not, they should at least switch hands regularly to avoid diformities of their back

heavy burden doesn't harm kids, but adult person as well.
as long as the bags is too heavy that the bone of kid can carrym it would have bad impact to the kids, it could bend the body structure.
The back bone won't get straight.

yes it can happen,
The only way to avoid it is :
-getting ur kid to pack bag at night daily,
-to avoid books that are not required,
-binding of books with plastic binding so that the weight of cardboard binding is avoided
-good rucksack type bag that are more long than broad and not "bata" type bags which are more broad than long
