I almost dropped the "L" word on the gf for the first time a couple of nights ago, and in hindsight, wish I would have. It was a very good/positive emotional moment. Question: should I wait for another similar moment or does it matter? Can I drop it out of the blue and still have a positive effect? I have told women I love them before (and thought I meant it), but have never felt anything close to what I feel for her now and want to get this right.
And before anyone accuses me of alterior motives, I want to say I really am falling in love with her and I am as convinced as I can be that she is with me. I am not exactly scared, but definitely a little gunshy.

Women love to hear this anytime esp if it is sincere. The right moment will come to tell her and you'll know when that is or just when you are alone with her or maybe kissing her good night :)

YES. Say it before it's too late. You never know what's gonna happen in the future, you know what I mean? Before anything else happens, let her know. You'll be sorry if one day you just find out that it's too late.
And what's the use of waiting? You love her right now, you'll love her tomorrow or maybe even the day after tomorrow. You'll love her all throughout the time that you're wondering whether you should confess your love or not. You are just wasting the beautiful time that you could have had with her by wondering about something none-sense such as to wait or not to wait.
Time is gold. Do not do tomorrow what you can do today.
Don't you wish you were already spending THIS very moment with her than still contemplating whether or not you should let her know that you love her? Time is ticking... and it's ticking fast. Move!!! =)

Well, you should definately know where she stands in the relationship first. Do you think she would say it back or would it be one of those things where its like you say "I love you" and she says "Um....yeah...thats nice. Thanks." If you`re pretty confident that she loves you, you should just say it whenever you feel like saying it. Any time. It doesn`t have to be a special moment or "the right time" to be special and sweet. Any time is the right time and it won`t make a difference to her. She will remember it as a perfect sweet moment no matter when you say it.

When the time is right, you will feel it in your heart and she will be receptive to you. It's o.k. to be gunshy as no one wants to be rejected. Follow your heart, if you hold back you may miss that golden moment, that was meant for both of you.

Any moment you say the word is going to be special. Make sure there won't be distractions though. It's hard to forgive "I love y... do you believe he dropped the damn ball". You may want to consider writing her a letter (real paper, not email) expressing your feelings. It's old-fashioned but really sweet and she can hold onto it forever if she wants.
