Prednisone is particularly effective as an immunosuppressant and affects virtually all of the immune system. It can therefore be used in autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases (such as severe asthma, severe poison ivy, and Crohn's disease), various kidney diseases including nephrotic syndrome, and to prevent and treat rejection in organ transplantation.

u can take vicodin with it.....

Please check with a doctor before taking anything besides prednisone. Talk with your doctor about the prednisone. It is pretty dangerous in itself.
Prednisone was prescribed to my sister for arthiritis. It made her go crazy. Literally. She had to go to a mental hospital for a few days. She was irrational. It changed her appetite. She wouldn't eat much if anything.
The prednisone kept her from sleeping for several days at a time, and everything snowballed from there. Get off it as sooooon as you can! Especially if you are not sleeping.
I am sorry that you suffer from lupus. I never quite understood exactly what lupus is. I hope you find something other than Prednisone for relief.
