You are not going to go blind from swimming in the local pool. They have limits on how much chlorine they can put in the water. But, if you experience discomfort in your eyes from swimming, then do buy goggles for the next time. They are rather cheap and it has been said that an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.

The chlorine should kill bacteria in the pool- but can be irritation to the skin and eyes- blindness- I don't think so- if you pour chlrine into your eyes- yes- don't do that- some people are more sensitive to chlorine- maybe you are not very sensitive-happy swimming! D

Everyone knows how chlorinated water tastes and smells--- how it dries your hair and stings your eyes. The United States Environmental Protection Agency in fact classifies chlorine as a 'pesticide'.
Exposure to chlorine has been linked to asthma, lung damage, allergies, and even stomach cancer.
Now you can purify your pool water without chlorine with ChlorFree’s remarkable product! Our product has been tested and approved by the EPA, and it eliminates bacteria, algae and microbes to produce sparkling fresh water for your pool, spa or water fountain.
Using ChlorFree is easy and virtually maintenance free – simply drop the small plastic container that holds ChlorFree’s special minerals into your pool or spa – that’s it!
Within a few days your pool will shimmer with crystal clear water that is clean enough to drink! The purifying action of the product lasts for nearly one year.

if there is enough chlorine in the pool it will not affect you if you rinse when you get out...you need more chlorine than that to irritate the eye...you have other things to worry about at the local pool

your eyes will be fine!!! in a few hours they will be refreshed to new again. if you want to speed the process along (if your eyes are red or foggy or burning), you can put milk into your eyes just like eye drops. It really does the trick!!!

no, you'll be ok. Plenty of people swim with eyes open, etc...they'll just be irritated but no you shouldn't go blind.
